FDC Zero Tolerance Patient Harassment Policy
Family Dental Care maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding staff harassment of any kind, including verbal abuse, physical intimidation, threats, discriminatory remarks, sexual advances, or any other behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment for staff, patients, or visitors.
Prohibited behaviors include, but are not limited to:

Verbal abuse such as yelling, name-calling, insults, or offensive language directed at staff.

Physical aggression or threats of violence towards staff or other patients.

Unwanted sexual advances or comments of a sexual nature.

Discriminatory remarks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

Repeatedly demanding unreasonable services or special treatment beyond standard care.

Disruptive behavior that interferes with the efficient operation of the facility.
Reporting Procedures:
Any staff member experiencing patient harassment must immediately report the incident to their supervisor or designated reporting authority. Reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken based on the severity of the situation.
Consequences of Harassment:
Depending on the severity of the incident, consequences may include:

Written warning

Suspension of care

Termination of patient relationship

Referral to law enforcement if necessary
Patient Responsibilities:
Patients are expected to treat all staff with respect and courtesy.
Patients should communicate concerns or complaints through appropriate channels, such as speaking to their provider or using the facility’s grievance process.
Policy Enforcement: This policy applies to all patients, visitors, and staff at Family Dental Care.
Supervisors and management are responsible for ensuring this policy is understood and enforced consistently.
